America, we need to give a shit... about one another.
Mary Sue Merchant, 74, died of natural causes in her Orangeburg, S.C., home 18 months before her body was found in March. Her electricity was cut off, and her property had even been sold at auction after taxes went unpaid. "It just blows my mind," a neighbor told a local paper, saying she would have checked in on her had she known nobody else was.
And that kinda sorta reminded me of this story: "Homeowner who shot herself amid eviction dies"
