Icke's Anti-Semitic Reptilians

Reptilian humanoids are a common motif in mythology, folklore, science fiction, fantasy, conspiracy theories, and the pseudosciences of cryptozoology and ufology. Depending on context they are known by many names, including Snakepeople, Reptoids, Dinosauroids, Lizardfolk, Lizard People, or Lizardmen.

Reptilian humanoids of varying depictions have been common in the myths and legends of many cultures throughout history.

According to noted anti-Semite and Holocaust-denying neo-Nazi David Icke, 7-foot (2.1 m) tall, blood-drinking, shape-shifting reptilian humanoids from the star system Alpha Draconis are the force behind a worldwide conspiracy directed at humanity. He claims that the reptilians maintain their control through the generation of fear and negative emotion, which is food to these entities, by manufacturing conflicts, primarily wars. He contends that most of the world's leaders are in fact related to these reptilians.

Icke's theories have been attacked as anti-Semitic because his views of a reptilian takeover amid references to international bankers have echoes of conspiracy theories involving Jews.

He also says that what he calls the "white race" is most susceptible to reptilian influence, particularly white people with blue eyes.

Icke's statements that a cabal of Jewish bankers planned the Holocaust and financed Hitler's rise to power are regarded as anti-Semitic by Jewish groups and others. Icke has cited white supremacist, neo-Nazi and other far-right publications in his books.

Icke's last book, The Robot's Rebellion, for instance, is peppered with references to the "illuminati", an occult elite said to have originated in Bavaria in 1776, which both Icke and militia leaders believe is at the root of the Global Government conspiracy they have dubbed the "New World Order".

According to Icke, this order - which he also calls the "Brotherhood" - has the ability to plant microchips in people's brains so as to spread black propaganda against those, like Icke, who challenge its power.

Significantly, about the only thing Timothy McVeigh, the former Gulf War veteran accused of planting the Oklahoma bomb, has so far told his police jailers - apart from his name, army rank and number - is that he has a "bio-chip" implanted in his backside.

The implication is not lost on Icke, who has been arguing in his lectures that the Oklahoma bomb is part of a "mind control" plot by the FBI to increase the grip of the New World Order by producing a backlash against those who seek to expose the "illuminati".

It is all nonsense, of course. But it raises interesting questions, not least about the links between Icke and the more sinister forces operating within the New Age movement.

George Bush got memos from Rumsfeld that used Scripture to push Iraq war

Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld sent President George Bush top secret wartime memos with cover sheets that mixed Scripture and battle photos to cast the Iraq invasion as a holy Christian crusade.

Rumsfeld, not a man who wore religion on his sleeve, appeared to be trying to manipulate - or curry favor with - the Bible-quoting Bush, according to an explosive story in GQ.

Some Pentagon analysts worried that if the memo covers leaked, they would inflame the Islamic world, undercut Washington's Arab allies and bolster those who claimed America was out to Christianize the Muslim world.

A rather disgusting and scary perversion of a religion, don't you think? If you put a kaffiyeh on Rummy's head, you might think you were dealing with sha'aria-mad Al Qaeda.

Well, we now know that Bush had plans for an Iraq invasion before the 2000 election. We know the whole torture mess was not about preventing imminent terrorist attacks against Americans but was, instead, all about forcing prisoners to utter the magic words that there was a connection between Osama and Saddam. We know the ironclad proof of Saddam's WMD factories as represented by the "top-secret CIA photos" held up at the U.N. by Colin Powell were mere purchased images from a commercial satellite company that provides "taken from space" photos to anyone who wants to buy them. We know the White House and Cheney targetted Valerie Plame and Joseph Wilson for exposing a crack in their strategy. We know the abuse of prisoners at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo was orchestrated from the White House - from conception to planning to execution of the torture program.

So, this little tidbit about Rummy's abuse of religion is just another piece of the horror puzzle this country and other countries have been made to endure for the sake of one President's insanity.

Haters Online: The Chick Tracts

Chick Publications has been servicing the hate industry of right-wing religious extremism for many years. Simply being humble in one's devotion to the teachings of Jesus and striving to emulate the love and compassion preached by his lord isn't quite good enough for the purveyor of hate to be found here. It seems his version of religion (I wouldn't exactly define it as Christianity) requires huge amounts of hate spew be sprinkled here, there, and everywhere with his badly written and badly drawn mini-comics. In the tract depicted above, "Doom Town," we are to believe that all gays are out to kill all straight people by deliberately infecting our blood supply with AIDS. Yep, it really is a pretty disgusting mockery of Jesus' own message but I don't know if that's the Number One Priority here, anyway. Stirring up hate seems to take precedence over all.
